Welcome to Class 7
Mrs Forrest and Mrs Sheridan would like to welcome you to our class page!
If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to speak to us at the end of the day.
Diolch yn fawr iawn,
Mrs Forrest and Mrs Sheridan.
Our Spring Project is……………
Spring Into Wales
We had a fantastic launch day. We measured dragon eggs, tasted a variety of welsh foods and solved maths problems to reveal a map of Wales.
This half term we have been writing stories based on old welsh legends. We have explored different types of poetry and written poems about Wales and dragons.
We have been looking at the history of the ‘Coats of Arms’ and the children have designed their own.
We are curently working on our Expressive Arts project. We are basing our performance on the story of ‘Cantre’r Gwaelod’. We will be incorporating acting, dance, singing and ict into the performance. The children have been enjoying our sessions.
Find out more about how we spend our days throught the school Twitter feed. Across the week pictures of the amazing learning your children have been doing will be posted on our school Twitter feed using #GPSClass7.
If you are not yet doing so, we would recommend you follow us on Twitter @GaerPrimary
We have sent home a parent information booklet with details about Year 2 but you can also download it here.
Home Learning and Reading Books
Home learning folders will be sent home on Thursday and are expected to be returned by the following Wednesday so that they can be marked and updated. Home learning will consist of maths, topic work and spellings. A reading book will also be sent home every Thursday and should be returned the following week. We want parents to be actively involved in their child’s learning so please try to read with your child over the weekend. Our Home Learning page can be found by clicking here.
Daily drinks and snacks.
Please ensure that your child has a healthy snack for break time as well as a labelled bottle of water to drink during class.
Class 7 will have P.E every Wednesday. P.E is an essential part of staying fit and healthy so please make sure your child has a PE kit in school. We ask that PE kits are left in school and can then be sent home every half term to be washed.
Please be reminded that PE kit is made up of:
· PE Kit Indoor: Navy Shorts / White Round-Neck T-shirt
· PE Kit Outdoor: Navy Hooded Sweatshirt / Navy Jogging Bottoms / Trainers
Please remember that school uniform must be warn at all times:
· White Polo Shirt
· Royal Blue Sweatshirt or Cardigan
· Charcoal Grey Trousers / Skirt / Dress / Grey Tights
· Blue and White Gingham Dress / Grey Shorts (optional for Summer Term)
· Black Shoes
It is strongly recommended that all uniform including P.E kit should be labeled with your childs name.
Thanks for your help and support
Mrs Forrest and Mrs Sheridan
