Croeso i Dosbarth 8 !
After a few cold days in February we decided to get outside with the thermometers and see just how cold it was. The lowest we saw was -2 degrees in the puddles.
Our project for the spring term is ….
Spring Into Wales
We had a fun and successful launch day.
Happy New Year ! We hope you have had an enjoyable and relaxing Christmas. We have added some photos of the work we carried out in Autumn and we will be announcing our new project soon.
We would like to make Year 2 a fun, enjoyable and very productive time for your child and so we would welcome any questions and are always available to listen to and support any problems you may have. We have sent home an information letter but this is also available here.
Here are a few reminders to help you settle in.
Drinks and Snacks
Healthy snacks can be brought in for morning break. We also encourage children to have a drink during class time as this helps their learning. Please can your child bring in a water bottle (not cartons please) that they can keep in class seperate to their lunchtime drink, with their name clearly marked on it.
We ask that your child has a PE kit kept in school at all times, which can then be sent home each half term to be washed.
PE Kit Indoor: Navy Shorts / White Round-Neck T-shirt (again all labelled with your child’s name)
PE sessions will be every Wednesday.
If you are not yet doing so, we would recommend you follow us on Twitter (@GaerPrimary). Throughout the week children’s learning is celebrated through Twitter using #GPSClass8.
Please remember that school uniform must be warn at all times:
White polo shirt.
Royal Blue Sweatshirt or Cardigan
Charcoal Grey Trousers / Skirt / Dress / Grey Tights
Blue and White Gingham Dress / Grey Shorts (optional for Summer Term)
We thank you for your continued support in ensuring the children look so smart!
Home Learning will be given out every Thursday and must be returned by the following Wednesday so it can be marked and changed. Please ensure the children maintain the high standards of presentation and layout that they produce in class but we do ask that the home learning is the child’s own work. If they are having difficulties or make mistakes please discuss them but do not just change their work or answers as mistakes can help inform our work in class.
Spellings will be sent home every Thursday. Please help your child to learn these words ready for a spelling test each Thursday.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to speak to us at the end of the day or send in a note. Many thanks,
Mr Cooper and Mrs Cole
